I knew nothing about publications, editors, tags, algorithms, or any of the strange little ecosystems that exist within the writing world. It all felt completely foreign to me. Yet somehow, I felt guided toward this platform, and I felt guided to write. So I did. I wrote previously about how unexpectedly writing entered my life and how platforms like Medium once felt entirely unfamiliar to me. What I have never really spoken about is what the process itself actually looks like behind the scenes. The truth is, I still do not really know how writing works for other people. Maybe some writers carefully structure content calendars, map out topics weeks in advance, or sit down with a clear plan of what they want to say. That is not how it works for me.
