Marilyn Monroe look-alike event set to take over Palm Springs as California city attempts new world record

If you are in downtown Palm Springs this weekend, don’t be alarmed if you see a sea of platinum blonde hair. Greater Palm Springs Pride has organized what they hope will be the largest gathering of Marilyn Monroe look-alikes ever seen, in honor of what would be the Hollywood icon’s 100th birthday. Monroe’s life was tragically cut short in 1962. She was found dead in her Los Angeles home at the age of 36 due to probable suicide. The look-alike gathering scheduled for Saturday will attempt to break a Guinness World Record , with organizers hoping to attract 500 volunteers. Greater Palm Springs Pride has organized what they hope will be the largest gathering of Marilyn Monroe look-alikes ever seen, in honor of what would be the Hollywood icon’s 100th birthday (L. J.
