I had responsibilities, children, and a full life. But I made a decision, I didn’t want to stay the same. And that’s the part people don’t talk about. We hear people say they don’t have time to heal, and on the surface, that sounds valid. Life is busy. Life is demanding. Life doesn’t pause just because you’re hurting. But the truth is, none of us really had the time. Healing isn’t something that shows up when your schedule clears. It doesn’t wait until life becomes convenient. It doesn’t knock on your door and ask if you’re ready. Healing is a choice. A conscious decision to say, “I don’t want to keep living like this.” For me, healing didn’t come wrapped in peace and clarity. It didn’t feel soft or beautiful. It felt uncomfortable.
