I just got this job and after a few days started feeling unwell. I messaged my manager and told her if I can work from home today just not to risk getting anyone sick. I had a sore throat but I could work, just thought it would be safer to do it from home. She said no and said it’s the company policy, apparently they prefer we rest and not work at all. Is this common?

I heard managers usually are against WFH while sick and demand you to work from the office but never heard about someone that demands me not to work at all.

I really appreciate her caring for my health and all but.. I can’t afford taking days off without a solution.
