Most teams measure GitHub Copilot 's value the wrong way. They count accepted suggestions, track lines generated, and call it a productivity win. The SPACE Framework forces a better question. SPACE stands for Satisfaction and well-being, Performance, Activity, Communication and collaboration, and Efficiency. It was developed by researchers at GitHub , Microsoft Research , and the University of Victoria specifically to address the problem that developer productivity is multidimensional.
