Apple spent years promising a foldable iPhone, and that wait finally has an end date. The device, now widely expected to carry the iPhone Ultra name, is set to land in September. But according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman , showing up to buy one at launch might not be as straightforward as picking up a new Pro Max. Gurman’s report came as a direct rebuttal to Nikkei Asia. That outlet had claimed Apple’s foldable was facing serious production delays that could push it into 2027. Apple shares dropped more than 5% after the story hit. Gurman pushed back, saying the iPhone Ultra is still on track for September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. However, buried in his report was a detail worth paying attention to: the complexity of the new display and materials could limit iPhone Ultra supply for several weeks after launch. Apple’s plan is still to put the device on sale around the same time as the Pro models, or very soon after. He did note that mass production hasn’t ramped up yet and the timing isn’t final.…
