Dear Care and Feeding, My husband “Glenn” and I are at odds over our son, “Larsen,” 7, taking karate lessons. Ordinarily I would have no objection, but Larsen has a 3-year-old brother, “Cody,” whom he constantly picks on. There have been more than a few occasions where Larsen has hit Cody, and I am convinced that Cody will become a punching bag for his brother. Glenn thinks taking karate is what Larsen needs to learn some discipline and will adjust his attitude. As much as I love my older son, he’s been a bratty kid almost from the time he could walk. I think the last thing we need is to have a bully with professional fighting skills. What can I do to explain to my husband that this is a nonstarter?…
