I was too disgusted and traumatized after the show ended to do a rewatch anytime soon, and it's only now with trepidation that I undertake it. I'm trying to take a different perspective on it now, look for different things, pay attention to the plot and character development. I'm making my way through Season 1 and it's plain as day where Ned (and Cat) went wrong. Openly retracing Jon Arryn's investigation rather than keeping a low profile til he could get the lay of the land. Blabbing to Circe that he'd discovered her secret. Cat "arresting" Tyrion, not seeing the logic of his defense (why would I use my own dagger?) Cat not realizing her sister is insane and immediately exiting the Eyrie. Both of them trusting Littlefinger about anything. Ned blabbing to Renly. I am mad at both of them for not realizing Ned and the girls were essentially hostages, especially after Ned resigned (omfg what a bonehead move) and Jaime crippled Ned. They were sitting ducks.…
