Speaking at a ministerial meeting on UNSC reform on the sidelines of the Africa-France Summit in Kenyan capital Nairobi on Monday, Youssouf said the continent’s demand is not a request for special treatment but a response to a long-standing imbalance in global governance. “Africa is not asking for a favor; Africa is demanding the correction of a historical injustice,” he said, according to an AU statement.
