Feasibility study before launching a physical product against cheaper competitors Hi all, I’m developing a compact mechanical crimper tool, much easier on the hand than most other crinpers available in the market that I’d like to manufacture in the USA. I’m at the stage where I need to decide whether this is commercially viable before investing in tooling and a first production run. My challenge is that Amazon/Harbor freight already has many Chinese-made hydraulic crimpers selling in the $30–$70 range. My product would likely cost around $150 just to manufacture, so retail pricing would need to be significantly higher. My product aims to compete on build quality, compactness, ease of use, and being made in America—not lowest price. I’m trying to understand how other small product businesses approached feasibility studies before committing money. Specifically: How did you validate real customer demand beyond friends/family opinions?…
