With both of these sub genres fading away from the limelight, the 2020s have been pretty underwhelming for me when it comes to new EDM. No other sub genre has quite been able to scratch the same itch as these two except maybe melodic dubstep but I feel like that subgenre has also ran its course. Just for clarity so there’s no subgenre arguing when I say ‘progressive house’ I’m referring to the ‘festival big room progressive house’ that was largely popular in the early 2010s, not the ‘real progressive house’ that older EDM listeners refer to when they say progressive house. submitted by /u/Dislexicpotato [link] [comments]
