Five links in a 500-word article. We’ve always known that Medium has great domain authority, which is superior to Substack's. And since the beginning, it felt that many people on Substack have migrated from Medium and were always posting to both platforms. It’s OK to include calls to action, maybe a link at the bottom and another halfway through the article, but I don’t think this whole approach is going to work anymore. Here is why: The target audience is different As a reader on Medium, I expect ad-free, high-quality stories and a mixture of algorithmic suggestions and human curation.
