Doralee “Dori” McArthur Mortensen March 23, 1938 – April 7, 2026 Longtime Bend resident Doralee “Dori” McArthur Mortensen passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026 at the age of 88. She spent her last days surrounded by her friends, children and grandchildren. Born in Spokane in 1938 to Mildred Clayville Otter and Floyd L Otter, Dori dedicated her life to nursing and the outdoors. A graduate of UCSF and the University of Portland, Dori was a Nurse Practitioner and educator. She taught at Southwestern Oregon Community College before moving to Bend in 1987 to teach at COCC. Her career took her across the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, where she brought warmth and reassurance to countless families and welcomed new life into the world with steady hands and a radiant laugh. Her students remained lifelong friends, a testament to her impact as a mentor. Dori found renewal in nature. She spent years on the Oregon coast crabbing and hiking with her first husband, Bob McArthur, and their children.…
