Two days after their first matchup since 2002, when the original Portland Fire folded, the New York Liberty and the Fire will face off again in their second and final game of the season against each other. In Tuesday’s game, Portland (1-1) stunned New York (2-1) with a last-second rebound that pushed them ahead to win the game. Tied at 96 in the final seconds of the game, Sarah Ashlee Barker rebounded Bridget Carleton’s missed 3-pointer and stuck it home as the clock ran out to win 98-96. The Liberty will be without Sabrina Ionescu and Satou Sabally again, but all five of its current starters contributed 10 or more points in the last matchup with Portland. Pauline Astier scored a team-high 24 points in the loss.
