Turned out general manager John Schneider was interested in doing so to fill another need position. The Seahawks traded a 2027 fourth-round pick to move back into the fifth-round this season and get guard Beau Stephens out of Iowa. Stephens was deemed a lineman most likely to succeed in a zone blocking scheme, which makes him a strong fit for the Seahawks.
