There is a believe-it-or-not aspect developing in the Central Otago premier club competition, involving Arrowtown and Cromwell. Last season was a nightmare for both clubs. Between them, they won just four games out of 24. How different things are now. Cromwell lead the competition after four consecutive victories while Arrowtown are in fourth spot after runaway victories over Maniototo and Alexandra, two games in which they have scored 14 tries. Arrowtown now get a crack at the White Horse Cup, on Thursday evening under lights in Wānaka. Coach Aidan Winter is not making any predictions about that contest, knowing how formidable Upper Clutha are at home, having lost only two games in Wānaka in the past two seasons.
