The murder of Ross Falzone by a crazed repeat offender, released an hour after police escorted him to Bellevue Hospital, encapsulates every destructive impulse the left acts upon ( “Subway track record,” May 10). The responsibility of government is to protect the lives of its citizens. Instead, the left continues to protect criminals. There is a simple solution to this cancer: mandatory and lasting incarceration of those who threaten the safety of others, be they insane or simply deviant.
