Do you all pay for cloud storage services like Dropbox, iCloud, or Google Drive? Or have any of you managed to set up a remote NAS while traveling?

For those who have spent months abroad...is it actually possible to maintain your own NAS instead of just paying for the cloud? Would love to hear if anyone has successfully pulled this off.
