Whether it was rapping in the dugout as a youth baseball player or trying to convince his teammates to sneak out of the team barracks at Cooperstown, Basic High School graduate and baseball product John-Howard Bobo has always been the life of the party. That doesn’t mean he didn’t take his practice seriously. Bobo worked his way up from playing junior college baseball at College of Southern Nevada before going Division I at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. Bobo said he worked out with the Los Angeles Angels coming out of college, but because of his injury concerns — including a wrist ailment and two knee surgeries — Bobo took a different path. Making music since he was a teenager, Bobo posted a music video called “Banana Bo,” his pitch to play in the Banana Ball Championship League. The league invited him for a tryout after the video grossed more than 200,000 views on TikTok overnight, putting him on the league’s radar as an entertainment player.…
