A Type 4 Incident Commander will oversee mitigation, fire patrols and hazard identification. Visitors and those recreating should be cautious in and around the burned area. Hazardous conditions may persist for several years after a fire, and hazards may not be the same as before the fire. Hazards to be aware of include snags, debris from falling rocks, erosion, ash pits and holes from burned shrubs or stumps. On Monday, firefighters continued mop-up work, hauling equipment and identifying repair needs. The day prior, firefighters stopped the fire’s progress on the northern and southern edge of its perimeter.
