American Airlines Partners With Starlink To Expand In-Flight Satellite Wi-Fi

High-speed in-flight satellite internet is set to become significantly more common over the coming years. American Airlines has finalized an agreement with Starlink to equip more than 500 of its narrow-body aircraft with advanced connectivity, with the rollout scheduled to begin in early 2027. According to the commercial carrier , the upgrade to Starlink wireless technology will be integrated across hundreds of Airbus aircraft. This deployment will include newly delivered models, specifically the Airbus A321XLR and the Airbus A321neo . The aviation company noted that Starlink is recognized as an advanced satellite constellation operating in low Earth orbit (LEO) . This infrastructure allows the network to deliver reliable broadband internet capable of supporting high-bandwidth passenger activities such as online gaming, video streaming, and collaborative workplace tools. To support this service, Starlink will supply multigigabit connectivity using its specialized Aero Terminal hardware.…
