Boston University is out with some pre-Marathon advice for impressionable young Terriers, and much of it is common sense (in fact, the subject line is "Sense and the City" - will the young'uns get that?): Don't overdrink, have a plan on how to get home in a city split in two by the race route, and the like. But also: If you're celebrating , remember you are a part of something much bigger than your group. This is a global community event, with families, runners and visitors all sharing the same space. The expectation is simple: respect the day, respect the people in it, and don't let poor decisions disrupt it for others (or for you). That includes avoiding any behavior that has no place here (e.g., G-Court/GAP shenanigans or disruptions at events hosted by neighboring institutions that cannot be repeated).
