Free submission. Winners can see their work printed along the storywalk and win a year-long membership to the Center for Birds of Prey. The Center for Birds of Prey is calling all haiku writers and passionate poets to celebrate International Vulture Awareness Day with haikus celebrating the two vulture species found in Florida: Turkey Vultures and Black Vultures. Fifteen winners will be chosen and featured along the Center for Birds of Prey’s storywalk. Submissions available here. What is a haiku? A simple poetry form, originally from Japan, that includes three lines: -       T he first line has five syllables. -       T he second line has seven syllables. -       T he third line has five syllables.
