Been working in educational technology sales for the past 8+ years, 4 as an AE and 4 as a regional manager. Got contacted by an executive recruiter about a Director Sales position for a laundry services company working in the college/university space. I'm interested because it would be a step up in terms of management and would allow me to stay in the university space I've come to love. But I've never heard of this type of would industry and am unsure if moving outside of tech sales would be a good move long term. On the one hand it is a clear progression in my career in terms of role and level of management but I'm so used to the problem solving approach of tech sales and unsure how this change of industries might play long term. Any thoughts? submitted by /u/dschilling88 [link] [comments]
