Thirty years ago this summer, the first book in George R.R. Martin ‘s A Song of Ice and Fire series, A Game of Thrones , was released. While fans aren’t getting Winds of Winter to celebrate its thirtieth, they’re getting something pretty neat to mark the occasion that’s far from a consolation prize: a special rerelease. Folio Society ( which already makes pretty decadent editions of the series ) is publishing 1,000 limited-edition single-volume editions of A Game of Thrones , signed by Martin himself . According to People , the 872-page single-volume rerelease will feature artwork by Jonathan Burton as well as a clamshell box, rolled map, and a “dragon leather” binding.
