Regions Central Otago Mustangs will roar into Alexandra at the end of the month when the 2026 Southern Muster arrives in town. Muster co-ordinator Bob King, of Christchurch, said the annual roundup of the iconic cars was held somewhere between Christchurch and Invercargill every year. The event was alternately hosted by the Canterbury Mustang Owners Club and the Southern Mustang Club, based in Invercargill with members from Otago and Southland. This year the Southern club was hosting in Alexandra, May 22-23. At 11am on the Saturday, all 38 registered cars would drive down Centennial Ave and Tarbet St towards Omakau giving fans a chance to see them in action. One of the rules of the weekend was that cars could not be washed so hopefully the weather would be kind, Mr King said. The weekend will also feature a charity auction, with the proceeds going to The Finery’s Little Learners Trust. Participants will all bring something in a brown paper bag to be auctioned.…
