Location: Texas - I cosigned a mortgage loan with my father under the impression that it would be his retirement revenue. I just learned that the house he and I purchased was for his mistress and their son. They (all 3 of them) had no credit and were relying on my credit score to cosign the loan and to purchase the house. I signed the deed, then a document selling the home to the son. I then later signed a Special Warranty Deed adding him as a Grantee for the home. I get that I was stupid and just signing a bunch of documents and never did my research. The only reason I found out about this scenario was when my father was hospitalized and apparently the mortgage loan went 5 months unpaid. My credit score took a dip of 250 points. I'm asking what avenues I have to take. Could I get off the mortgage loan? Could I sell the house? He still wants to be involved with his mistress; therefore, I want no part in the rest of his life and want to cut all ties to him and that part of his relationships.…
