‘If I die in a plane crash…’: Aamir Khan says he writes a secret note for Mansoor Khan before every flight

Mansoor Khan may have retired from direction after his 2000 romantic drama Josh, but he continues to be a solid support system for cousin and longtime collaborator Aamir Khan. To the extent that whenever Aamir felt a new team — including a new director and a new actor — in any of his productions would need assistance, he brought in Mansoor to serve as a creative producer on the film. These include Abbas Tyrewala’s 2008 romantic comedy Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, starring their nephew Imran Khan, and most recently, Sunil Pandey’s upcoming romantic drama Ek Din, starring Aamir’s son Junaid Khan. “When the shoot gets over, and we’re in the final post-production, I’ve always written a note to Mansoor. I always get very stressed that what if my plane crashes or I die? I don’t want the film to go wrong. So, I ask the director to take Mansoor’s advice. And I ask Mansoor to take care of it. I do it every time before I get on a flight,” said Aamir, laughing.…
