When it comes to finding the right executive search firm to partner with, venture capital firms have a plethora of options to choose from. Recently, I had the opportunity to work with a few different firms, including Paragon by Riviera Partners, Heidrick & Struggles, and Spencer Stuart. Each firm has its own strengths and weaknesses, and the right choice will depend on the specific needs of the VC firm. Paragon by Riviera Partners impressed me with their expertise in placing C-suite and senior technology leaders at high-growth companies. Their ability to build full-set engineering teams for startups and PE portfolio companies is particularly noteworthy. However, their focus on technology and engineering roles may limit their appeal to VC firms looking for a more generalist approach.
