Dezeen Showroom: Spanish brand Marset has reissued one of its early lighting ranges by designers P Aragay and J Pérez Mateo, which recalls the aesthetics of the 1970s. First released in 1973, Lauro lighting is notable for its continuous steel stem and base, made at a time when bending steel was a huge challenge. Pieces in the Lauro lighting range feature tubular steel bases Marset describes it as a product that highlights technical achievements made half a century ago, while simultaneously showing that strong design doesn't age. It has released Lauro in its original table and floor versions, both featuring robust tubular stems that seem to pool onto surfaces, as well as putting a twist on the design with a new wall lamp.
