Dear Pay Dirt, I’m very unhappy at work, and I need advice for financial planning for a career change that could end up being an end to my marriage. My hope is that it won’t be, but things are rocky right now, and I’m worried. If it were just the career change, I’d talk to my husband, cut expenses, and start saving. But since I think he might leave me over this, I need a different plan. Nearly 18 years ago, my husband moved to my state to marry me. About two years ago, we moved to be closer to my husband’s family. My income goes much further here, and I’ve become the breadwinner, while my husband works a lower earning job for his family’s business. So, even though my salary goes maybe 20 percent further here, there’s suddenly about 40 percent less total coming in.…
