Tuesday saw the perfect dichotomy between fragility and perseverance. The last time Palmer Ridge girls soccer dropped a contest was April 9. The following week, they defeated Windsor to spark an eight-game unbeaten run. That streak and a 15-win season came to an end on Tuesday as none other than Windsor knocked the top-seeded Bears out of the 4A state tournament with a 3-0 victory in the quarterfinals at Don Breese Stadium. Junior leading scorer Tatum Gentry was a wizard for the ninth-seeded Wizards as she had a hand in each goal, scoring twice and earning an assist. Gentry beat Palmer Ridge keeper Tarryn Porterfield off the counterattack in the eighth minute. In the 26th, she dribbled past a pair of Palmer Ridge players and sent a skillful cross into Ella Crotts, who was open on the back side. Crotts finished to double Windsor’s advantage.…
