How Are People Job Hunting in 2026?

The job market keeps changing, but one thing stays the same: everyone is trying to figure out the “best” way to land a role.

Some people apply to 200 jobs.
Some focus only on networking.
Others build in public, post on LinkedIn, contribute to open source, or rely on referrals.

I wanted to understand:

• What’s actually working for people right now?
• How many applications does it take?
• Are resumes still enough?
• Does personal branding matter?
• Is networking more powerful than cold applying?

So I’m asking developers, designers, and tech professionals to share their real job-hunting strategies.
