Recently, older adults of the BuzzFeed Community shared the unique, everyday experiences from the past that younger people would find difficult to believe, and as an older Gen Z'er, I can confirm that some of these are quite surprising! Here are the common experiences from "back in the day" that are now obsolete, according to people who lived them: 1. "I remember my family doctor would come to the house for house calls, and he was always smoking — whether it was in the exam room or in your house." 2. "I remember not having a Social Security number until it was time to work. Children were not born having a Social Security number.
