New backyard, can these cypress trees survive? So last fall we moved into a new build in Sacramento, and very quickly got the backyard landscape as we had a big family event coming up we would be hosting. We had 9 young cypress trees along with some shrubs planted around the edge of our yard, and have automated water system in place done in December. Now unfortunately at some point the whole sprinkler system got messed up (likely me messing with the schedule and not knowing what it was doing), and i think for the first 2 months off the year they were completely off. Winter is the rainy season in Sacramento so there was still some rain water, but it finally realized something was wrong when the front yard started drying out. Unfortunately by the time i noticed and fixed the setting, 3 of the cypress trees had started drying out real bad. Most of the branches on those 3 are dried out and brittle to the touch (although they do have a few new green branches coming out from the bottom).…
