I am looking for a place to live so I can be car free and closer to the mountains for skiing, mountain biking and hiking. I’m exploring the Northwest rn and traffic and roads are a nightmare here. There is zero mountain access to skiing using public transit.

If i could live in Switzerland (I can’t) i could take public transit from big cities. 5 minute walk to the skiing.

Anyone know of a part of the USA where I could be car free and use public transit to ski? I usually like to fly to Banff for the easy trip to the ski areas and no parking hassles.
