Philadelphia has a busy summer ahead, as it gears up to host the FIFA World Cup and a run of shows marking America’s 250th anniversary . Come June 4, the city will also welcome Elsewhere , its second-ever contemporary art fair, following one single edition of the Philadelphia Fine Art Fair in 2019. Elsewhere marks the first time a local has staged such an event. Its mastermind is Megan Galardi , who is behind the Belle Vista-based Blah Blah Gallery . Launched in 2023, the gallery has swiftly made its presence known beyond the city, at events including SPRING/BREAK , Future Fair , and SPLIT LEVEL . “I love the way that it allows me to connect as a gallerist with collectors and other artists,” Galardi said of Future Fair over a video call. “Obviously fairs are very cost prohibitive, so I wanted to make something more accessible,” she continued. “Philly allows for that flexibility.” Galardi began curating off-site installations at the chic Yowie Hotel last spring.…
