Martin Lewis has issued advice to those who are concerned about their hotel bookings if their flight is cancelled due to a shortage of jet fuel.

Many airlines are grappling with intense pressure from soaring fuel costs, which have roughly doubled since the outbreak of the Iran war.

However, Europe’s biggest budget airlines told The Independent travel correspondent Simon Calder they are confident they can fly as normal during the peak holiday spell.

If travellers are still concerned about their upcoming hotel bookings, the Money Saving Expert founder has issued advice on which cancellation policies may be safer.
