Southland Southland Express Forty-two local Southland subcontracting firms are involved with the construction of Invercargill’s new museum. Invercargill City Council group manager capital portfolio Jamie Garnett said the construction had been a great way to tap into local business. The project involved local bricklayers, concrete companies, environmental consultants as well as stainless steel and timber providers. "Projects like our new regional museum give the crews working on them the opportunity to reflect on the role they played and the work they contributed every time they pass by." All crews were doing a great job and there was a lot of pride at the site, he said. Gregor Morsink, owner of HG Morsink, a gibstopping and painting firm, said the build was exciting and a privilege to be involved with. The company had worked on several projects over the years including The Langlands hotel and Invercargill Central mall.…
