Hello all!

I’m trying to get a dx7 for electronic, indie pop music that I’m into these days. (As men I trust use them a lot!)

When I look up, I see all those models such as dx7, dx7s,

Dx7 II fd etc…

Should I just get dx7 or go with dx7 Ii models?

I read somewhere that og dx7’s velocity only goes up to 100 unless you use hammer to play it lol

Also Ii models are able to do split, layer I guess. Split is not what I want, but not sure about layer.

And I’d like to also know if I need a cartridge for all these models, or can it save onboard ?

So for me it comes down to

12bit vs 16bit

One sound vs layered sound

Rubber button thingy vs plastic clicky buttons.

What would you get? I don’t think I need layered sound but never played one before so I can’t imagine what dx7 layered patch sounds like.
