Movie of the day...THE WOODS (2006) Movie of the day...**The Woods (2006)**. Don’t drink the milk. *The Woods* uses a common plot—our heroine, Heather (Agnes Bruckner), gets in trouble and is sent to an isolated boarding school by her parents (Bruce Campbell and Emma Campbell). Soon, she encounters difficulties and mysterious circumstances. Along with almost immediately getting on the wrong side of school bully Samantha Wise (Rachel Nichols), Heather starts having nightmares and she also starts hearing things. It is almost as if something in the woods is talking to her. Later, another girl (Kathleen Mackey as Ann Whales) who tried to kill herself returns to the school, but disappears shortly thereafter, and the only thing anyone finds is a bed full of dead leaves. Who will be taken next? The film has a strong cast and they give solid performances (including Patricia Clarkson as the delightfully sinister headmistress, Ms. Traverse). Bruckner makes us care about Heather. We want her to survive.…
