About five years ago, a little game called Wordle dropped onto an unsuspecting internet and became the obsession of word enthusiasts the world over. Now it’s about to take the plunge into television. The New York Times, which bought Wordle from creator Josh Wardle back in 2022, has just announced that Wordle is about to become a TV show set to launch on NBC sometime next year. Savannah Guthrie of Today will host the show, and late-night television legend Jimmy Fallon will produce it. Fallon has been interested in turning Wordle into a show since October of last year, and it looks like his dream is finally coming true.
