Christian Mango is a 10-year-old boy from North Carolina who never expected that a homework assignment for his fourth-grade class would wind up going viral. Christian's teacher asked their class to write a persuasive essay and send it to someone with the power to make a difference. Christian chose to write a letter to his Congressperson Virginia Foxx, arguing in favor of the government giving a rebate to drivers who choose to buy electric vehicles. Christian told Fox 8 in Greensboro why he chose this topic, saying, "We should have a $5,000 tax rebate. For electric cars, because they’re better than normal cars. They’re better for the environment. They pay less. And there’s no gas." Christian says he mailed the letter to Foxx in an envelope from his school with 4th grade on the return address.
