Dear Care and Feeding, I have two kids, ages 7 and 10. Two years ago, I discovered their dad had been cheating for years. My doctor told me my ongoing symptoms were actually an STI. I can treat it, but I’ll have it for life. When I tried to push for a polite, fair divorce with 50/50 custody, my ex locked me out of our money, took me off his health insurance, and did everything to draw it out. I ended up living with my kids at my sister’s place, because he locked us out of the house as well. A lot of this isn’t allowed, but taking it to court takes time and money. I make way less than him and had to put the lawyer on my credit card. His biggest push was custody: He wanted 100 percent, because they were something he could take from me.…
