Hi my brother's a bass player and he's a teenager, so pretty broke and he can't really buy new strings, so I figured out I'd buy him a set bc his current strings are too wobbly for lower tunings.

I can figure the gauge, but what about the composition ? I don't know a thing about it, I'm a guitar player so for electric everything sounds the same once you put distortion, but idk material is important for bass strings.

He mainly plays rock and metal on an Ibanez SR300EB-WK.
