Kiln is opening a 43,000-square-foot coworking campus in Bend’s Old Mill District, betting that Central Oregon’s remote-work economy still has room to grow even as the market for flexible office space becomes increasingly competitive. The Utah-based company will open Monday at 501 SW Hill St., marking its 23rd location and second in Oregon. The Bend facility — which previously was the location of outsourcing company IBEX Global — is designed to accommodate more than 500 members. The new location includes coworking desks, private offices, podcast studios, wellness amenities, event space and technology-equipped conference rooms. Several rooms on the upper floors have sweeping views of the Cascades. The opening comes as Bend continues evolving beyond its pandemic-era identity as a “Zoom Town,” when remote workers from larger metro areas including Seattle, Portland and the San Francisco Bay Area relocated to Central Oregon in search of lifestyle and flexibility.…
