I'm currently in an MSA program, and will graduate in Spring 2028. I'm 40 years old with no accounting background. I do have years of work experience in professional settings. The MSA program faculty states I should really get an internship. With graduation and fall recruiting approaching, I need to decided if I'm going to go for it. My gut tells me I should go for it. Easier to get an internship that could lead to higher quality return offer and at the very least, easier to get some experience via an internship. Problem is, I would need to leave my full-time job. This doesn't seem like a great idea for a few reasons. #1 would have very little to do with myself once a few month long internship ends. #2 applying for jobs when don't already have one is typically not advisable if avoidable with increased stress and employers frowning on unemployed.…
