Patrick Farrell serves as the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Intergovernmental Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security. In that role, he oversees the Department’s engagement with State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial officials. Before assuming that position, he served as Associate Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and as the Secretary’s Briefing Book Coordinator.

Prior to his service at the Department of Homeland Security, he worked in the United States House of Representatives for four years and at the White House during President Trump’s first administration.

Patrick grew up in Chillicothe, Illinois and earned his Bachelor of Arts from Hillsdale College.
