Advanced Communications Experiment - Cross-Border Autonomous Session Persistence Experiment and Research (ACE-CASPER) Fact Sheet Body The Advanced Communications Experiment - Cross-border Autonomous-vehicle Session Persistence Experiment and Research, or ACE-CASPER, is a wireless communications experiment designed to redefine bi-national joint operations using autonomous vehicles and uncrewed aerial systems. Planned for Winter 2026, this first-of-its-kind initiative brings together the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate and Defence Research and Development Canada’s Center for Security Science to test seamless, uninterrupted communications between U.S. and Canadian 5G wireless networks.
