Boston firefighters and EMTs responded to the Roxbury Crossing Orange Line station shortly before 11 a.m. when a woman got onto the outbound tracks as a train was coming into the station.

The woman, possibly a teenager, "intentionally entered into the right of way," Transit Police Supt. Richard Sullivan said, adding after firefighters extracted her from under the train, she was taken to a local hospital with injuries that appeared serious but not life-threatening.

Service was halted in both directions and power shut off as firefighters worked to get her off the tracks and up to the platform for care and transport by Boston EMS.

Not long after, firefighters also responded to the Orange Line station in Chinatown to evacuate passengers from a stopped train.

The MBTA brought in shuttle buses to ferry passengers between Back Bay and Forest Hills. The T reported at 12:15 that regular service was resuming - with residual delays.
